A Free Ultima Online Shard
Felucca · Full Loot · Classic Danger
The world remembers when death had weight and every stranger was a threat. Step into Britannia the way it was meant to be — dangerous, alive, and entirely unforgiving.
Custom Systems
Every mechanic has been designed to reward mastery and make every encounter matter.
Skill Synergies
Related skills amplify each other. Anatomy and Healing push bandage heals beyond vanilla limits. Forensics, Tracking, and Carpentry reduce barding difficulty. Your skill choices compound.
Cooldown HUD
A live heads-up display tracks every active skill cooldown in real time. Provocation, peacemaking, discordance, healing, hiding, and more — always visible, always accurate.
Graveyard Encounters
Enter the Britain graveyard in Felucca and a Player Killer portals through to hunt you down. Portal VFX, voice lines, a 3-minute cooldown, and five minutes to escape or die.
7 PK Archetypes
Classic Dexxer, Pure Mage, Necro Mage, Ninja, Paladin, Archer, Sampire — each with distinct tactics, gear, and speech. No two encounters play the same.
Three Tiers of Danger
PKs come in Newbie, Advanced, and Expert tiers. Stats, skills, and equipment all scale up. Survival against a Newbie is an achievement. Surviving an Expert is a story.
World Atlas
Every new character starts with a blessed World Atlas. Open it to browse all towns, dungeons, and moongates, then click any entry to teleport there instantly — after a brief channelling delay.
Hunter System
Rare named creatures prowl Britannia across four tiers of danger. Hunt them for Hunter Tokens, redeemable at the Guildmaster NPC for exclusive rewards. Wanted PKs carry bounties too — kill them to claim their head.
Active Development
New systems ship regularly. Check the changelog to see what's implemented, what's being built, and what's planned. The shard grows with its players.
Scripted Threats
Seven AI-controlled archetypes portal in to hunt you. Each has its own tactics, gear, and voice. None of them forgive mistakes.
"Step into the graveyard at dusk and you will feel it — a shimmer in the air,
a sound like wind through a gate that isn't there. Then one of them walks through.
It is not a player. It has no mercy. It has only purpose."

What's Happening
AI Guild Factions — Going Live
Three of the twelve AI-controlled guilds are now active in Britannia. The Silver Wolves patrol Sacred Journey dungeon, equip magical gear, and hunt Shadow Hand members on sight using DetectHidden. The Arcane Brotherhood casts buffs on nearby allies, opens dungeon portals, and runs expeditions into the deep. The Shadow Hand snoops packs, carries daggers, and drops unique loot on death — including a 1% chance at an Orb. Each guild has its own death loot table, patrol routes, and faction logic. More guilds are coming.
Ethereal Mounts — Now in the Hunter Shop
Seven ethereal mounts have been added to the Hunter Token shop. Llama, Horse, and Ostard cost 50 tokens each. Reptalon and Beetle cost 100. SwampDragon and Tiger cost 150. Ethereal mounts occupy no stable slot, never die, and can be stabled at will. They are the most visible reward the Hunter system offers — and now they have a price.
Orb Drops Everywhere — System Overhauled
Orbs now drop from every wild creature in the world at a 0.5% base rate — no special conditions required. Hunter creatures have been rebalanced dramatically: Tier 1 has a 10% orb chance, Tier 4 is guaranteed plus a 50% chance at a second orb. Wanted PKs drop orbs by tier. Expert and Advanced PK NPCs now have orb drops too. If you kill things, you will find orbs.
Treasure Hunter NPC — Party Support Added
The Treasure Hunter NPC now offers party variants for all service tiers. Book a Full Service or Decode+Full as a group and every party member — plus their pets — gets teleported to the dig site. A return gate opens for the whole party. Party pricing adds 10% to the base fee. Pets are collected before the owner moves so nothing gets left behind.
Magic Clothing — Wearable Enchantments
Shoes and tunics found across Britannia can now roll magical properties: life leech, mana leech, stamina leech, hit point regeneration, mana regeneration, luck, skill bonuses, and movement speed. Every piece is different. The best ones drop from tougher monsters and dungeon chests. Crafters cannot produce these — they only come from the world.
Treasure Maps Fully Rewarded
Every level of treasure map now has teeth. Named monsters and boss guardians on levels 2 through 7 drop loot appropriate to their difficulty. A new Level 5 dungeon chest requires 100 Lockpicking to open. Power scrolls appear on levels 4 and 5. Orbs drop from all chest tiers. Treasure hunting is now a real progression path.
Combat Skills Reworked — Parry, Magic Resist, Anatomy
Three core defensive skills have been redesigned using the Outlands model. Parry now gives a 50% chance to reduce incoming damage by 50%, scaling to 80% reduction with Bushido. Magic Resist reduces spell damage directly and at high skill grants spell absorption and a mana siphon buff. Anatomy gives 1% physical damage reduction per 10 skill points — building defensively is now a real choice. Archers and ninjas also benefit from a new Force Arrow shadow strike: hit from stealth at 80+ Stealth skill for a burst opener without breaking hide.
Server is Live
AIther is officially open. The server is running on Hetzner hardware in Nuremberg. Connect now and be among the first players in the world. All custom systems are active — cooldown HUD, skill synergies, and graveyard encounters are all running.
Graveyard PK Encounters Active
The Britain Graveyard in Felucca is now a dangerous place. Wander in and one of seven PK archetypes portals through to hunt you. Each has its own combat style, voice lines, and playstyle. Three tiers of difficulty based on your prowess.
Skill Synergies & Cooldown HUD Shipped
All barding skills now benefit from the synergy system — Forensics, Tracking, and Carpentry reduce difficulty on Provocation, Peacemaking, and Discordance. Anatomy + Healing boosts bandage heal output. The cooldown HUD tracks all of it live on screen.
Hunter System — Bounties & Rare Targets
The Hunter System is live. Four tiers of rare named creatures now roam Britannia, each worth Hunter Tokens when slain. Turn them in at the Guildmaster NPC in Britain, Trinsic, or Minoc for exclusive rewards. Wanted PKs have been added to the track — kill a Cutthroat, Murderer, or Dread Lord and claim their severed head as proof.
World Atlas Added to Starting Backpack
Every new character now begins their journey with a blessed World Atlas. Open it to see all towns, dungeons, and moongates across Britannia. Click any entry to teleport directly there — no rune libraries, no gates. A short channelling delay applies, and the cooldown HUD counts it down.
Encounter System Expanded to 40+ Zones
PK encounters are no longer limited to the Britain Graveyard. The encounter system now covers over 40 named zones across Felucca, Ilshenar, Malas, Tokuno, and TerMur — dungeon levels, entrance corridors, and deep boss floors all have their own encounter tables. Tier scales with zone depth. A 30-minute per-player cooldown prevents farming.
Orb & Currency System Introduced
Twelve types of Orbs now drop from monsters across the world, each tied to a damage school or character attribute. Essence Shards bind to your character and represent progression. Scroll items grant temporary boosts. The full economy layer — how Orbs feed into crafting and advancement — is still being designed, but the items and drop tables are already active.
A Living World — AI Guild Factions
The next major phase of development is underway. Twelve AI-controlled guilds will inhabit Britannia — blue, grey, and red — each with 12 members who follow daily schedules, hunt, bank, chat, and fight. Your reputation with each guild shapes what quests you receive, what prices you pay, and whether their members are friendly or hostile on sight.
